    Dan yr Ogof

We decided that this year we should go off and give a performance with our other band and raise some money for this years BBC Children in Need Appeal.
So after a few exchanged emails, we were given permission to play at The National Showcaves of Wales at Dan yr Ogof in the Swansea Valley. As it happens 25yrs ago we did the same thing there with the same band. Where does the time go.
There were loads of people visiting the caves yesterday, so it turned out we had a great audience who joined in the spirit of things and were even dancing to some of our up tempo stuff. We played in Cathedral Cave.
We only played for an hour but managed to raise £100
My Brithdwr Dewi Sant was the order of the day since we were in the National Showcaves of Wales. Here some pics.

A nice way to raise money for a good cause.

Derek, how were the acoustics? The few caves I've been in, would not have been conducive to a concert.

Some caves can be wonderfully acoustic.

I didn't put the Dan Yr Ogof ones to the test when I visited though.

But the BBC did a concert of Fingal's Cave by Mendelssohn actually in that cave on the island of Staffa and it was wonderful.

HL31..... the reverb in Cathedral Cave was awesome. Simply so natural. Even with the technology we have with our studio recording gear, it still cannot replicate it (although its close). The real thing has that magical ingredient 'x' factor. There have been many Welsh Male Voice Choirs who have given concerts in Cathedral Cave.

Derek, sounds like a good location for the James Clode band's next video (and maybe an album.)
