Went down to Oxford to listen to her give an hours talk on the Outlander book series. She is entertaining, funny, sassy and sexy and looks at least couple of decades younger than the 63 years she claims. I guess she modelled many of Claire's traits on herself. At the podium, apologies for the quality, photography was not permitted officially so this is a blow up from a quick snap: At at the book signing: The ceiling in the Sheldonian theatre where she was, was definitely worth a study: Afterwards I had a brief walk around that a small part of the centre area, not much greenery but plenty of old interesting buildings and bicycles, some of those quite old as well. (Oxford is very flat, parking very limited and students plentiful; I counted 15 colleges on the google map centre area I downloaded.) Quick snap through the car windscreen, pity about the pedestrian, the second child was attached to the front bike, a sort of family outing. Continued...

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
Naturally I was kilted, and not unsurprisingly was the only one I saw. There were a few tartan scarfs, but nothing else. What did surprise me was the number of Americans there. One lady had apparently flown over from Arizona just for the event or events as there was a whole week of literary events. Blackwells seems to own a slice of Oxford with book and music shops and a marquee set up for the occasion, where the book signing was set.

Love the pictures! Your weather looks quite spring like, unlike many parts of Canada at the moment.
