Dreich Day at Durham Airport

I flew a short flight across the northern pennines to Durham Tees Valley airport today (Durham airport is 30 miles from Durham and much closer to the sizeable towns of Middlesborough and Darlington.). A challenging flight in squally conditions but got there safely and Mike would fly me back which should provide me an opportunity to get some aerial photos.

Then the rain came on real heavy.
Then Mike took a photo of me in my dark blue denim Union Kilt.
Then I dropped the camera into a puddle and it went into PC mode and refused to take any more photos.
We waited and waited until eventually the weather improved and we could fly back to Carlisle Airport.
We had to go through the full security at Durham airport, boots off and through the x-ray, camera and mobile phone through the x-ray, even the jacket and the hi-vis vest through the x-ray and a thorough frisk - the security guy took a good feel around everywhere, even pressing on the apron of the kilt, in fact his hands went everywhere except up the kilt. He remarked "You must be used to this weather where you come from."
Aircraft owner wasn't too happy we were late back as he was off to Mull for a few days and had hoped to get to his hotel in time for dinner tonight, but didn't make too big a fuss as the weather was outwith our control.
All's well that ends well, the camera's dried out tonight and now working again.
