    The Duke Kahanamoku H'Island Games

Rocking the Traditional look, to the max.

This before I put on my pink head scarf. Darn, has my sock fallen down? Who only put on one flash anyway?

This was our fifth year of THE DUKE. Rules for attire are kilt plus Hawaiia'n shirt. If someone doesn't have kilt, that' fine. Just wear your Hawaiian shirt. Bethany is rockin' her "flame kilt" that I made her. Wendy doesn't have a kilt yet but we can forgive her because she cleared fourteen feet in weight over bar in her FIRST GAMES. She's tiny but whoooiiie can that lass throw.

The IPA was good. The whisky-flavored pineapple upside-down cake was UNBELIEVABLE. Martin Roy presided over the barbeque. The big lad in red on the left hit two personal records in the weight throws. The fellow in black shorts in the middle is now officially hooked on the Highland Games and hopefully will be training with Martin Roy. Dogs had fun. Kids threw stuff, played all day, searched for bugs and minnows in the stream and fell in, and then stood under the sprinkler. WIN all around.

Happy Fathers day to all the dads in that picture and there are several.

Alan: Great pic. Nice-looking teammates. Yeah, your sock had fallen down, but at least no one can accuse you of looking matchy-matchy.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Kilt plus Hawaiian shirt. Not a common combination but I've seen it done before at the New Hampshire Games.
    Looks like lots of fun.
