    Dutch Pipe Band

I found this photo recently. This is the first band I've seen wearing the Dutch Friendship Tartan. The person who took the photo told me that it was a dutch band called "Pegasus Pipes and Drums" who were performing at this years commemorative for "Exercise Market Garden" but on their website (unfortunately all in dutch) they are dressed in Royal Stewart. Does anyone know this band? Is it really the Pegasus Pipes and Drums and they've just neglected to update their website?

It isn't just the kilts that don't square with the Pegasus Pipes and Drums. The drums, hackles, and insignia don't match up either. Unless they've had a massive influx of money and changed their entire rig, it isn't them. I've looked on bobdunsire.com and I don't see these accoutrements with any of the Dutch pipe bands listed there whose websites are still up and running. Is there any way to get a better look at what's on the tenor drum? That would go a long way at figuring out who they are.

Thanks for your comments. I unfortunately dont have the tools to be able to zoom, cut and paste things like insignes or what have you. Their uniforms look military (the side drummer is wearing medal ribbons and what looks like pilots wings). Vaguely American or Canadian? The badge on the drums has crossed swords and the letters EM (amongst other things).

Nope, wrong coloured tunics for Canadian Forces, that I can say with certainty. I do agree however that the side drummer seems to be wearing ribbons ... and some sort of emblem. I was thinking it looked more like something navy than pilot's wings, but I can always be wrong. (Quite good at it actually.)

You might inquire with the Dutch Pipe Band Association or post the photo on their facebook page.

The band is the Dutch Military Pipes and Drums, a civilian band which is comprised of serving and retired members of the the Dutch Military. This is their website: http://www.blueguards.nl/en/home

    Thank you Google. :-)

Thank YOU for taking the time, and having the skills, to look into this.
