I am soooooo jealous! I was given tickets for this year's Tattoo, but had to decline as I have my mother visiting at the moment.

Do you have a list of which pipe bands were present?
It's sad that due to the shrinking of the Scottish military there are fewer military bands (brass bands) and army pipe bands than there used to be, and the ranks of the massed pipe bands of the Edinburgh Tattoo are filled out with civilian pipe bands and overseas mililtary pipe bands.
Time was when there were easily enough British military pipe bands to field a massed pipe bands for the Tattoo.
At least for now, I believe, each Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland maintains its own pipe band, though not their own military band (brass band).

Fantastic... and it looks dry! Was it? All my friends who went to the tattoo saw the show in the pouring rain.

Up till today the weather has been ok the kids went into the sea at Dunbar!
last night at the Tattoo it was bang on warm ish dry and the performance was fabulous.
Bands from the RRoS 1st bn, 2nd bn. Scotts Guards, Royal Scotts Dragoon Guards, RAF, Royal Irish, 1st & 2nd bn Gurkha Rifles, The cross swords from Germany and Caledonian Society south Australia 250pipers and drummers
When i get home i'll go trough the rest of the video and post it up

Saw this years tattoo, was good but have seen it twice before in recent years and did not feel it was as good as prior onesd but venue is vastly improved and toilets now seemed to be adequate they were terrible prior!

This is my 5th year on the bounce and yes some shows have been better not too many laughs this year but with new stands with more room it for me was a great night. the loo's have always bin ***** mind if you ever go to any british motor sport venue then the loo's at the tattoo are positively palatial

Hahaha, I agree!!! I always "hold it" until I reach a favourite nearby pub, or at my mate's house nearby.
