    A fab meeting

Last fri was our monthly folk club. The numbers were down this month as also on the same eve the BBC held their annual Children in Need event on the box plus Wales were playing Semoa in the Millenium Stadium. However, there were enough to make it another fab nite of great company and musicians

What made it extra special was this ....

Yep ... if you looked closely ... in the centre of the pic is our very own Jock Scot. Here is a closer one ... the guy in the jim jams is Dave who wore them all night and collected money in a bucket for Children in Need

It was a great pleasure meeting Jock, who is one great guy, and hopefully we might meet up again before Christmas or if not late January. Either way, Elaine and myself cant wait as we had a wonderful time with him albeit it was just for an evening.

Indeed it was a "fab evening"! I had two wonderful hosts, who made time to make me very welcome whilst also ensuring the evening ran smoothly and everyone there made me feel very welcome too. I am no expert on musical affairs, but my word, there was considerable musical talent on display the whole evening through. Of particular note was the gentleman in the last picture, to the right(of picture) of "pyjama man", who at the age of 80 plus, got up and sang unaccompanied with a beautiful and powerful Paul Robeson-esque voice, simply stunning! If anyone who is visiting that part of Wales and likes a friendly atmosphere with good folk music, then they need look no further than the "Rumney Folk Club".

I am not too sure that we will be able to meet again before we head north due to the weather causing major disruptions to the countryside here, but I hope very much to make it to Wales and spend much more time with the charming Elaine and Derek in January.

I saw pictures of the flooding in yesterday's news. I hope everyone is well.
