A few Holiday shots
I just finished making this kilt for the son of some dear friends. They were in town for the holidays and were throwing a dinner party, so I delivered it.
Helping him with the straps...

Yours truly and the new kiltie. Tartan is Scott hunting muted. Pardon the "askew" look...the basting stitches were still in, and the little blighter had grown about two inches in the waist since I last measured him and it was not fitting too well (I had expected to have to move the straps, but not quite so soon!) I took it home that evening and had it sorted for him the next evening.

Finally, my son (center) who is the piper for the Celtic rock band "Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans" at their performance in the local holiday jam fundraiser for Children's Hospital and the local food bank. On the left is John, an amazing lead guitar, and on the right is Shaun, and equally amazing guitar and bass player. Both lads are great vocalists as well.

You can barely see JB back there on the drums. JB had been hospitalized after a heart attack just eight days prior to this concert, but was wailing on the drums nonetheless. Three stints and great medical care...a true Christmas blessing for JB and the band.

Well done, I'm sure that the lad is well chuffed with his new kilt.

You know, you have evolved into quite a kiltmaker. It wasn't that long ago that you downloaded the X-Kilt instructions and got to work. Then you got Barbs book. Now you make wonderful works of art; band kilts, custom jobs hand-sewn, really...the works.
I think you should take some pride in what you have accomplished and how far you have come....no formal apprenticeship, just your own hard work and a little help from a couple of manuals.
Well done, my friend. Well Done.
