A few photos from the 2015 Monterey Highland Games

Hi All! It was nice and cool down in Monterey and a perfect day to attend the Monterey Highland Games. I thought I would share a few photos from my trip.

The weather was nice enough to wear a tie

I like how my family all have their own style for wearing tartan

Some of my friends in the Santa Cruz Class of the SF RSCDS put on a nice presentation of Scottish Country Dancing. Without a lot of time to prepare they offered a fun look at what it would be like to be in a Scottish Country dance class. They were having so much fun I was sorely tempted to join them! (sadly I had left my dance ghillies at home)

There was an exhibition of sheep dogs featuring Runner ducks (that frankly seem far more intelligent than sheep!)

Our friend Roger seemed to be having a good day on the athletics field

The Monterey Games is a smaller games for Nor Cal, but certainly fun and a breath of cool air during our hot summers.

Looks fantastic! I can't believe I lived there for nearly 5 years (between Mt. View and Monterey) and NEVER went to the games... I'm so sad. I want to come back.

Monterey always has perfect kilt weather. Great place to visit, but I'm glad I don't live there anymore.

We stayed at a farm B&B in the UK where the sheepdog had recently had a litter. Farmer kept one pup and showed us how he and the mother were training the young 'un. That little dog wanted to herd anything that moved, including the resident geese -- who were highly indignant, and put that puppy in its place!
