I finally got my first kilt today. I put it on and headed out the door. First stop was my parent's house where I was expecting to hear "WHAT are you wearing?" and some good-natured ribbing from my mom. Mom wasn't home, Dad was. He tends to be more relaxed about stuff. He seemed to like it, but i don't think I can get him into one anytime soon. Had my camera so I could get a picture: Next was the local video store, and it was a non-event. Then off to one of the local big-box retailers. Got a couple of stares (that was fun! Watching people try to wrap their heads around a guy in a kilt.) and a couple of "Nice Kilt" comments. All in all a good day. On another note, today was the 2nd anniversary of the death of my second ex-wife's father. He was loveable old grouch and even after the divorce, I still thought of him as family. It is kind of fitting that I receive a garment that helps to honor family connections arrived today.
Congratulations on your first kilt, timber. Lookin' good, and it sounds like everything went well first time out.

Congratulations on your first kilt and a positive first outing. Darrell
What a nice first day kilted! Going all those places the first day shows a fair share of confidence... Great - keep enjoying!
Have fun with your new kilt. Your smile seems to indicate it was worth the wait. Cheers

Paul Murray Kilted in Detroit! Now that's tough.... LOL
Lookin great! But I have one little piece of advice. See those two leather loops on the right side of your belt buckle? Slide one of them all the way around to the other side of the belt. Then you'll be perfect.
Looks good!
