First kilt ever (and loving it)

My wife and I went to the first ever Badin Celtic Festival in Badin, NC this morning and I got to wear my great kilt for the first time. It was a bit of a hassle to pleat for the first time, but was worth it. I got several unsolicited compliments from passers-by. The festival was awesome and I am looking forward to the next opportunity that I have to go about kilted.

I always found the pleating easy, getting it around me and belted the hard part. Your great kilt looks, well, great.

I bought my great kilt cloth in 2000 from the old defunct H&H Scottish Something out of California. Because of the way it was sewn together, it came out longer than wider. This error was a benefit to me, because I don't have to pleat so much in the back. Regardless, I find laying the cloth out on my king mattress, hand-pleating the back, and laying the belt underneath makes it easier to "strap it on".
