First Kilt. First time out
I'm in the market for my first kilt. I went to Things Celtic in Austin to try on kilts. I wanted to get an idea of what waist size works for me.
I tried on a number of tartan kilts, both wool and PV. I think they were all 24 in -- 2-3 inches too long for me. The clerk asked if I'd like to try on a 22 inch poly-cotton kilt. I found a tan one I liked and, surprising myself bought it, a pair of red flashes and blue hose.
I wore it out of the store and went to lunch, Petsmart and the grocery store. Nary a sad glance. I got home, ironed it, changed shirts, put on the new hose and went to meet up with some buddies for Monday Night Football. They gave me a lot of grief, but the host's GF took this picture, sent it to a single friend and said, "You should have come tonight. Steve wore a kilt." Friend replied, "He's got a lot of confidence."

I do believe I'm hooked.
I've been trying to decide if I'd buy USAKilts casual or semi-traditional. I pretty sure now that it'll be the semi-traditional
