First pic of Charles and Camilla
The first official photograph of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles since their engagement was anounced today.
Charles, needless to say, is resplendent in a kilt!
I'll be wearing mine to the do....if invited.

Tartan & tie...
The tie is the Gordon Highlanders regimental tie, and the tartan appears to be the Princess Mary Tartan (based on Royal Stewart with a dark green ground in place of Red) -- a graphic is found of it on the "Royal Tartans" page on the Tartans Authority site:
http://www.tartansauthority.com/Web/...yalTartans.asp
Third one down on the right.
Charles is very proud of his association with the Gordons, who were amalgamted in 1994 with the Queens Own Highlander (Seaforth & Camerons) to form the Highlanders.
A very nice photo -- thanks for posting, Martin, and best wishes to them both!
Cheers,
Todd

That is a nice photo Martin. Of course anyone wearing a kilt looks great I guess that I will see you at the ceremony ,even if it is a Civil one.

Well at least Charles looks good in a kilt. Love the coordinating colours.

Not quite co-ordinated, Casey! Camilla should have worn brown gloves (and shoes?) to match Charles' sporran if they had wished to be co-ordinated!

Hamish, I felt sure you would say something about the tie Charles was wearing!

Well Graham, I certainly do not like his tie with that ensemble. However, it appears to be a military regimental tie and he might have been attending an event connected with that regiment when the picture was taken. Since I have no knowledge whatsoever of matters 'military' or 'regimental' (other than another meaning of the word! ;) ) I am unable to comment further ...... much as I should like to.

Thanks Hamish, well I suppose that we should be happy that his first official piccie should be taken while kilted, regardless of whatever else we might think about the Royal pair.

Charles doesn't look so grim and worried anymore. Good deal. I wonder how many kilts he owns.

I don't know how many kilts Charles owns. I'll ask him at the reception.
