    Glen Canyon Waterfalls

Thunderboomers today created a huge runoff the mesa and waterfalls into Glen Canyon.

Pic was taken from Glen Canyon Bridge.

Took the pic kilted but too nasty out for a kilt shot of the MacLean Hunting.

That is so cool with the waterfalls. We should all take time to admire this beautiful earth we live on. I love your photos.

Thundershowers fill up the little creek in front of my house, but it's not nearly as dramatic as that! That's a postcard shot.

    Thumbs up Living Earth

    Riverkilt,
My family had the privilege of visiting the Grand Canyon in 2006. It remains one of my most memorable/spiritual places. I continue to enjoy the photos you post of the region. And this one, has simply captured my imagination. It is a fabulous photo and one that is, I expect, exceptionally rare. All things being equal, I think this wonder easily upstages tartan! BTW, where exactly is glen canyon? With appreciation!

Well, to me its all one canyon. Grand Canyon begins where the Little Colorado River meets the Colorado River. Upstream from that is what is called Marble Canyon which begins at Lees Ferry, Arizona. Upstream from that is Glen Canyon. 15 miles of it are still there, the rest - upstream from Glen Canyon Dam is sadly under water - under what's now called Lake Powell.

I shot the pic from the bridge just downstream from the dam so that's the upper end of Glen Canyon in the pic. If you were on the water you'd go downstream to Marble Canyon then the Grand Canyon then Lake Mead behind Hoover Dam.
