Glencoe July 2007
I finally made it to the Highlands. Even more beautiful than I even imagined.

Great pictures. It shows how difficult it is to capture the scale of the scenery there in a photograph but it is really magnificent.

I don't think I have ever seen pictures of Glencoe in sunshine, perhaps that way it better captures the mood of the place.

Glencoe
I was very moved standing in that place. Other than a piper playing, those there were very quite. It's one of those places who's history overwhelms you just standing there, even apart from the absolute beauty of the place. As mentioned, pictures hardly do it justice.
As for the weather, I think I would have been disapointed had it been sunny. As it was, our entire trip we had rain every day, with rare periods of intermitent sun, and the temps were between 54 and 68 degrees F.
Cheers,
Kerry

Glencoe July 2007
I never tire of seeing Glencoe and yes the sun does shine there, occasionally.Early morning when the sun gets above the hills and especially on a quiet sunny evening it is a magical place to be.The silence is almost painful,a whisper is almost too loud.I have often wondered that if this glen's sad past was not known about, whether it would still have it's sombre, not depressing, atmosphere.I rather think it would. Those lowering hills are really very special. The weather and the glen can also be as wild and dangerous as anywhere else in the world.
