The Gray Stewart 6-yard...finally done
After 6 months of on-again, off again kiltmaking, I finally finished it this morning while waiting for the Sears guy to show up. It's a 4.75 inch sett...28 pleats, 6 yards of 11 ounce wool, garnered from buying two Gray Stewart kilt skirts off of ebay, disassembling them, and forging ahead. This kilt is entirely sewn up with thread from my much-loved and sorely missed Mother-in-Law's thread stash. I did all the pleats while taking a week off from work, and staying with Joan at the house that she grew up in, taking care of Mom during her last days.
Thanks, mom. We love you and miss you.

Congratulations on your beautiful kilt and condolences regarding your Mother-in-law. May her thread in your kilt help keep alive the best memories of her each time you wear it.
