It has been five years since I last ran the half marathon distance in the Great North Run. Today I was back there as driver for a group of female athletes. The finishing line, hoping I can find my passengers in the crowd. Having deposited the ladies thirteen miles away in Newcastle-upon-Tyne here's hoping they will all arrive safely at the seaside resort of South Shields, thirteen miles away. Cheryl completed the run in her wheelchair, assisted by her sister and her mum, to raise funds for a charity which provides horse riding for the disabled. Next of the group to finish, Kirsty, still looking fresh as a daisy after running thirteen miles to raise funds for a project at our local hospital. Back in Hawick and its time to drop the lassies off at the end of a great day out!
