Thanks for starting a pictures thread! Mine are not as good as the newspaper pics (but we may recognize more people!).
Here is the STM tent early in the day before the crowds arrived.

One of our museum trustees, Chuck Coburn, looking up a tartan for someone.

One of our first visitors was Lamar Britt, of Ferguson Britt sporrans, making an appearance in his Zebra fur sporran.

He hand delivered a number of sporrans for the gift shop that morning. Here's the display (which attracted a lot of petting hands during the day).

You'll see a wonderful bobcat fur sporran in there, a Japanese fallow deer, stingray, blue iris mink, and beaver.
Of course, Mr. Britt was not the only world-famous celebrity in attendance. :-) His Royal Highness Prince Edward was there. While MacMillan of Rathdown got within hand-shaking distance, this was about as close as I got (thanks to my zoom lense!)

(Actually I found out that at one point in the day the Prince was about 50 feet behind me, but I was deep in conversation with someone about tartan and missed the whole thing....)
The crowd gathered for the opening ceremonies (where the above photo of Prince Edward was taken).

Here I am with a lovely lady who just insisted on having her photo taken with such a handsome man in a kilt. :-)

(Actually, that's Mrs. Piperdh, so we know she has plenty of opportunities to take her picture with a handsome kilt-clad gentleman).
More to follow....

The gathered X Marks rabble.

Davidlpope showed up about 5 minutes after the photo was taken, so he gets a solo pic.

Piperdh was kind enough to bring us snacks -- homemade dandelion cupcakes!

Slante!

Showing off their pleats....

Here are Romilly Squire and Mark Harden of Cowdenknowes running away from me as fast as they can.

But I caught them at last!

Mark came by the STM tent a bit later on to chat. Here he is with my assistant, Ronan MacGregor, and Lamar Britt.

All in all, it was a great day. It was mighty warm, but not oppressively hot as in years past. There was good cloud cover, but the rains stayed away. Pretty good crowd, lots of nice folks, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
We look forward to attending again in 2011!

Super pics of the kilted rabble Matt.
I love the idea of the dandelion cupcakes.
Is that the Carolina tartan which you, DavidIpope, Piperdh and Mrs. Piperdh are all wearing?

Yes, it most certainly is! The Carolina tartan was well represented in South Carolina that day!

Here's a little closer shot of those cupcakes, Alex. They were vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, piped with a Wilton 59 tip.

This is the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders 'Pipe Band, practicing marching into their circle just a few minutes before competing in grade IV.

The Mrs. and I are members of the American Clan Lockhart Society, and these folks were representing the Society at Greenville. We got to march in the Parade of Tartans, in which I carried the clan banner. (Sorry, no picture of that.)

The two best-looking gents at the games:

This border collie was with a gentleman who had been a law enforcement officer, but due to an injury had to retire. He can no longer bend over, so picking things up off the floor or ground is a major ordeal. He discovered "Emma" and rescued her from where she lived and trained her to pick things up for him, and now she's a service dog. She was very friendly with anyone who wanted to pet her, especially little children.

It was a very nice day at the Greater Greenville Games, and the Mrs. and I enjoyed it very much.
