Hand-made Aussie kilt seen in Dornoch
[ATTACH=CONFIG]38360 My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in Dornoch two weeks ago, with a Service conducted by the Rev Susan Brown, chaplain to Her Majesty in Scotland (didn't know that when I booked). Why Dornoch? My Munro ancestors are from those parts. My kilt is Smith Weathered and is the third kilt my wife has made. Pictured with our son (Smith Ancient) and granddaughter, who live in Edinburgh, and the Rev Brown.

Beautiful photo!
I've seen Smith Weathered, I think it's one of the nicest Weathered tartans. Our band has considered it, we know we would like a weathered tartan whenever we get new kilts.
BTW my fellow Americans always pronounce Aussie as rhyming with "saucy". Please tell me it doesn't?

Very nice, doctorg and congratulations to you and mrsg. The Cathedral has wonderful acoustics, doesn't it? A fine friend, Ron Robb, from Melbourne, sang Gilbert & Sullivan's I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General in Dornoch with an organist from England year ago. Ron had a powerful basso-profundo voice-- it brought repeated shivers up the spine. He was a piper and on another occasion played in Dornoch with an accompanying organist.
When you have an opportunity, I am sure we would love to see some pleat-shots.

Form the Smith weathered my wife made. Remembering, it was only the second one she had done (taught from the internet) and had-sewn. What a process.
