    Happy Holidays from Longhuntr!

Wishing all my friends on XMTS (and even those that I don't yet know) a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I was feeling in a festive mood today when I strapped on my kilt (as you might guess based upon the abundance of red and green in my outfit) and figured that I would have my wife snap a couple of pics.

    A bit about my attire:
    • The kilt and garter ties I made myself.
    • Sweater is a recent purchase from Kohl's (one of my favorite stores).
    • Sporran is a new L&M that I absolutely love (though I concede that it may not be some people's cup o' tea). I like the fact that it has both black and brown, and the green is very unique.
    • The shoes are the Allen Edmonds McAllister wingtips that I purchased earlier this year (that some of you might recall the multiple threads and discussions about).
    • I'm wearing a black sporran strap (which goes well with the edging, detail and back of the sporran), but would like to get, or make, a belt and sporran strap that match the background of the sporran face (coincidentally a near perfect match to the shoes, as well).

    What a great outfit Jeff.

Personally I think that is just a grand sporran that would work with many, many outfits.

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

    Cheers

That was exactly my thought in selecting it, Jamie. For starters, I much prefer the hunting style sporran configuration to the flap style for it's ease of access (one handed opening, digging, and closing vs. a hand to hold the flap up out of the way while you go rooting around inside the pouch with the other...maybe that's a probably only I have with sporrans, though).

Additionally, with the colors, it goes well with both of my kilts and either black or brown leathers. I expect that this sporran will become my go to sporran for most occasions, excepting dress wear (for which I will still wear my black goat hair sporran)...and while out hiking (at which times I'll probably stick with my Rob-Roy style sporran with the beaver tail flap...though I'm considering modifying that sporran slightly to (1) improve the flap hinge and (2) add inner pockets for my cell phone, etc.).

I remember drooling over the Adhamh when I was first outfitting myself. I am envious, but in a gentle, appreciative way! Looks even better in use than on Keltoi's website.

Saving pennies...or maybe I'd be better off saving quarters.

    Happy Holidays back at you!
