Looks lie a very peaceful town Trefor. Thanks. I believe you were very close to Castle Fraser in that area. Did you have a chance to see it?

Well I hadn't heard of Castle Fraser but having checked it out it appears to be in Inverurie about 26 miles west of Aberdeen so that's some distance from the Inverness area. Aberdeen is nearly 100 miles from Inverness.

True, I guess that would put it a bit further east on the map above than I realized.

Thanks for the pictures yet again! My wife and I are planning our trip for next year back to Scotland and folks keep adding things to the list. Oh, and Cavscout, we will be spending a couple of days in Aberdeen doing the genealogy thing. My family immigrated to the states from there in the mid 1800's.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

There seems to be a lot in that part of Scotland. I'd love to take some bikes and do the Castle Trail.

When we finally make the trip that is probably where we will spend mos to of the time, but I'd like to make it to the northern islands as well.

Your pictures keep reminding me of my trip there in 1998. Our home base was in Inverness, but we traveled to many places around there including Beauly and Elgin. Thanks for posting the pics to bring those wonderful memories back! We didn't have a digital camera back then, so I'll have to scan my pics in order to post them. Hopefully I can get around to that sometime soon.
