    Highland scoot

On sat the Highland scoot took place leaving from Stirling at the Wallace monument and then a round trip of around 170 miles. This event has not run for a very long time and was done in the 1950's here is the film from 1959 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__66J...e=channel_page It was a great day out! with me doing around 250 miles not bad for a 1960's Lambretta. On the way home on the Motorway my Friends vespa decided it wanted a hole in the piston (luckily we had a spare piston) 1 Hour later on our way There was a CEILIDH on after the event but I could not go here is some photos

Lammy, nice pix ! That's pretty much the same type of scooter my big brother had (he had a Li series 3) in the mid-1960's (he was a Mod) . He got his scooter painted sky blue and had various lamps, shiny mirrors and florida bars etc. I remember sitting on the back as he drove us around Musselburgh and Edinburgh. It felt really good. But Musselburgh's cobbled streets were deadly on a rainy day !

BTW I’ve been thinking for a while about importing a classic restored TV 200 into Oman (kick-start of course), similar to this (about GBP 4,000 imported from UK):-

Great pics, looks like a fun event, though you seem to have caught some rain over in the west of Scotland, Saturday was drier in the east.

How cool. Looks like it was a lot of fun. And what's a little rain anyway?
