Utah is best known for it's red rock deserts, but if you know where to look you can find hidden pockets of treed forests with tall evergreens. This morning we set out to find a hidden waterfall around 25 miles north east of Salt Lake City. In a narrow canyon we hiked in, just under two miles.
Along the trail is what has to be one of the largest trees in the State. It seems like it takes around 3 and a half people to put their arms all the way around it. It is nice to know this tree will probably be around for a long time.
When we got to the falls the water was running high and fast making it difficult to get good pictures, without getting wet.
Along the way back we met this sweet lady who asked to take my picture. I told her a friend of mine and I were competing to see who could post pictures of the prettiest ladies and I think I had just won. I did not realize until we got home the picture was shot into the sun. Oh well she was a sweet heart.

This was my first attempt at more aggressive hiking and scrambling in a Kilt. Scrambling is hiking that requires you to use hands feet and sometimes your rear end to reach your destination. All in all it wasn’t too bad.
See you on the Trail
