Great pics, Celt. I am in awe of some of the landscape this country has. I've seen most of it in person, but somehow, I ended up in the middle of a cornfield.
...and, yes, hiking kilted is the best.

Re: Hiking Kilted in Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park
Lucky you! Great photos, thanks for posting them. I grew up with a view of Mount Rainier, and visited the mountain often to ski and hike. Spectacular scenery.
In my youth, I was lucky enough to go up with famed mountaineer Jim Whittaker and his crew to visit some ice caves that had not been seen for over 50 years. It had been a very hot summer which gave us a tiny openening. We had to slide on our backs through a three-foot hole in the glacier and down a long, wet, muddy gravel hill to get into the ice chambers. I was in no way a mountain climber, and it was challenging, thrilling and quite scary. But I'll never forget nature's crystal palace under the glacier. Eerily quiet, dark (we used head lamps) and a surreal color of ice blue.
Ah, youth! Wish I could do that again!
Cheers, Jocelyn

Great pics! Ain't it wonderful to get comfy kilted in the wind and just let the pleats dance in the wind without worry?

Great photos! I've been all over the mountain, but never kilted (and I have no idea why...) What a great way to enjoy both the kilt and the wonderful natural settings we have in the Northwest.
...which makes me ask: "Why don't we have an XMTS Washington group or something along those lines? I was at the fair today, and it occurred to me that it would be a blast to have 20 kilties rolling through like we own the place.
Thanks for the post!!
