    Holiday party cruise!

My lovely wife and I attended our first holiday party for the year Friday. It was sponsored by my employer and was a great time. It was a 3 hour event on the Indian river, part of the intracoastal waterway in Florida. Really enjoyed a date with my wife, and out teenage daughters enjoyed NOT going!

    Before we left the house.

There are events on river boats in Memphis, Tenn. (85 miles north of my house) that have great parties while cruising the "Big Muddy". I've not been on one but have heard only good reports. I expect from your photos that the evening went well. Good for you.

This time of year, the Mississippi river has a bit of brisk wind that blows, usually under the front apron. Cocoa Beach must have a warmer wind.

It was a beautiful evening. The only wind was from the movement of the boat, and the temperature was in the upper 60's I believe. I was comfortable without my jacket, although my wife enjoyed the extra warmth from wearing it over her own jacket!

And there was an enclosed seating area on the main deck for anyone who was getting too cold.
