Honeymoon in Charelston pics

Got back from our week in Charelston Friday evening. Here's some of the pics we took.

Unfortunately, it was way too hot in Savannah to wear a kilt during the day and we didn't get any pics after dark. I think we were a bit upset because some unit from nearby Fort Stewart was having a party at Molly MacPherson's Pub and had the whole placed book through 7:30. We were starving and didn't want to wait another hour and a half. Tried to eat at Lady and Sons, which had empty tables and a 20 minutes wait. We settled on a place called Churchill's Pub which had good food, but we didn't take any pics.

It was wonderful to wear a kilt pretty much every waking moment while down there. I received a few stares in downtown Charleston, a few trying-to-contain-myself smiles, one or two very nice complements, and finally a "So, what's with the skirt?" question from our final tour guide. I think that was based on her previous experience with some Charleston magazine that sends guys out in real skirts and then interviews them - not really sure, but I corrected her and moved on.
If you visit Charleston, if you're into history, I recommend you take a nice carriage tour and skip all the themed tours, with the exception of visiting the "dungeon" under the Old Exchange building. They have excavated part of the original sea wall of Charleston, which is pretty cool to me. I recommend fully against the haunted jail tour - you get to go into 1 or two rooms in the jail at night while the tour guide tells ghost stories and stomps her foot. A real yawner with very little history. Also don't forget Ft. Moultry on Sullivans Island - they now have kilt experience out there as well:

My girlfriend and I have been saying we are going to drive down to Lady and Sons and eat some day just because shes a big fan of Paula Deen.

Awesome pics and sounds like y'all had a good time in Charleston! I can't wait to get back down there myself, I love Charleston! And I know what you mean about the ghost tours. My girlfriend and I took one last summer, and it was kind of boring, just a lot of walking.
