Houston Rabble on Tartan Day
Since there sadly was not an 'offical' Tartan Day event in Houston this year, some of us put together a little last minute get-together at the Tilted Kilt. We had about a dozen folks show up, 5 of us in tartan.

The usual suspects, TriolaMJ, Zardoz, Jack Daw, and Doug.

And one with the ladies, Becci from our Highland games assoc. and Rianna our waitress.

Some other "kilt fans" showed up; Blue and Jessica from my renfaire clan.

Blue introduced me to the 'Dirty Pear', Pear Cider and Guinness int:

A small and hasty gathering to be sure, but the Tilted Kilt took good care of us, good craic and company all around, and a pleasant way to mark Tartan Day!

The fellow in the MacLeod tartan (ironically, on the far right) is Doug Beaton. And, the waitress' name was Brianna (sp?). It's a bit dark, but I'm wearing for the first time my new L&M sporran that I bought from STM.
Say what you will about the wait-staff outfits, the food is very good; although, there's not much choice in single-malts and brews.
Thanks to Zardoz for slapping this thing together at the last minute!

Thanks Steve, I fixed Doug's name in the captions. I'm pretty sure the waitress was named Rianna, but if you're not sure, we should go back and ask!

I've also heard these called 'bruised pears'. They are tasty!

Excellent pics, looks like a fun time, a splendid example of the power of the kilt.
I love those rabble group photos, its always great to be able to match faces to usernames.

Well, she wrote a note on my ticket and signed it, "Bre." But, you're right, we should go back and make sure!
