I can see Paradise from there.
Well, at least I could see the Aldea Paraíso - Paradise Village in English.
Went to visit my country doctor this morning, and decided to wear my kilt. It is a USA Kilts product in the U.S. Army tartan. I believe that it may be one of their Semi-Traditional kilts, though it only has two buckles as opposed to the current description of a triple buckle closure system. I received the kilt in a trade, so it may be an older model? The navy blue cotton tie, navy blue hose, and red flashes are also USA Kilts products. GREAT doing business with them!
I was curious as to what the reactions of the local clients would be. It is located in a very rural area in the hills east of Guatemala City. As far as I could tell, there were none. Probably figured that I was just another crazy, old gringo. Is so, they were right.

Jim, you're looking very well turned out for a walkabout. I trust the doctor found you in decent health.

Thank you for the compliments and well wishes fellow members of XMTS. I did not do much walking - the automobile was close by and not in the photographs. No matter our health, we always have Hope in the Promise of Paradise.
Note: I failed to mention that the sporran strap is another of my USA Kilts acquisitions. I have made several purchases from them and can attest that they are a great company to do business with ..... fast and efficient service. I plan on buying a Casual kilt in the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Tartan next month.

I'd be surprised if there was. Guatemala was home to lots of colourful costumes, admittedly mostly on women, when I was there, but I expect the hippies add to the colour and variety of costumes too.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Well, I suppose it's easier to turn your head and cough with a kilt on. Nice looking kilt and great scenery!
