    Iowa kilt, by Newsome

Here are the first photos of my new box-pleated kilt by Matt, in the Iowa state tartan (ancient colours). The photos were taken at the site of the ancestral farmstead in Wright County, Iowa, about 5 miles SE of Clarion, the county seat:

Apologies for the wrinkles in the pleats! Blame it on the car seats.

And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I am wearing a Freelander sporran, the best sporran on the market.

Matt's kilts are truly a work of art and quality! I am very satisfied and a "box-pleat convert".

    Cheers,

    Todd

WOW. That is a nice looking kilt and you look really happy in it!

Actually, I've got my "Civil War reenactor" face on -- no smile. Old habits are hard to break.

Matt's kilts are a joy to wear. I really can't say enough about how satisfied I am with his work -- and I would have never been able to have ordered the Iowa tartan for a standard 8 yd. knife pleat kilt.

The kilting community is very fortunate to have Matt's talent and abilities.

Well Todd, we have a common ground that we can both agree on.

We both believe the kilt is lovely.

Box pleats look good on you.

That is indeed a nice tartan. And, as always, Matt's work is incredible!

Yes, the lighter weight box-pleated kilts have many fine, if different, qualities to recommend them. Especially, they are a treat to wear during the hotter times of the year, and they are still recognized as kilts by everyone who sees them.

The kilt looks great - it even makes you look presentable.
