Irish archaeology
As some of you may or may not know, I am in school for archaeology. Right now, I am studying for a semester in Ireland. Yesterday, I had the chance to go to the Aran Islands off the coast of Galway Bay. Here were some of my findings:
Wedge tomb

My friend inside a prehistoric cashel

17th century cottage

Inside

A old Christian shrine (Jesus is really big in Ireland...who knew?)

To see the rest of my photos, check out my Picasa site or find me on Facebook.

Great pics, Greg. It looks like you're getting a spell of great weather for your travels about the country. I hope it keeps up for you.

You look like a native...as long as you don't say anything, you can pass. Once they hear that Illinois accent, your cover is blown!

You're right, I may or may not have known your chosen field. In my previous life I was an Archaeologist. Caesarea Maritima, Easter Island, and Jordan were my stomping grounds. Archaeology is Greek for "Poor and living in beautiful places." I never had any money but when you don't have bills it's a good match. A great profession for the independently wealthy. O'Neille

Thanks for the view into a bit of your studies. I find the subject fascinating. I was able to tool around Olympia once. But only for a few hours
