Irish Game Fair, Shanes Castle
I did an interview promoting a couple of terrier events and a lad from my club is judgeing terriers on Youtube!! I judged the supreme Puppyy class (working dogs) Lurcher, terrier, Whippet etc: I picked the whippet as "Supreme Puppy Champion" My fellow "Neilston Working Dog Association" member Joe Kyrollos judged the terrier show at "The All Ireland Championship"
I'm wearing my tweeds and "Muted Hunting Cameron" tartan and Joe is wearing the Donegal tartan Joe's surname "Kyrolos" is of Egyptian origin, but his Auld Granny was Irish! hence the Donegal kilt in her honour
A couple of photo's include the organiser of Shanes Castle Game Fair Albert J Titterington presenting the Scottish Judges with bottles of Ireland's finest spirits
I'm also sure its the first time that Judge's at the Lurcher and Terrier show at an Irish Game Fair have judged in kilts and I look forward to doing it all again at Birr Castle in the Republic of Ireland at the end of August
Please if you have time watch the whole video, there's something for everyone! Your viewing and comments on Youtube also helps promote this event next year similar events throughout Ireland/Scotland and the rest of the UK
This is the link and the interview is about five minutes 48 Seconds into the programme:

Super pics, its a refreshing change to see some pics from Ireland here.
Being quarter Irish I am always interested in viewing activities from the emerald isle.
Somewhat ironic perhaps that I was in our home town of Paisley for the Sma' Shot Day festivities last Saturday.

I did see your photo's of the "Sma' Shot" celebrations in Paisley Alex and they were terrific!! Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view I'm not a native of Paisley ( a Buddie) I'm a Glaswegian who's lived in the town for over 30years and married a Paisley Lass! The big lad who headed the Sma' shot parade and banging the Sma' Shot drum (Tony Lawler) is a close friend of mine and he's been banging that drum for years In recent years the Sma' Shot parade has clashed with the Scottish Game-Fair at Scone Palace and I always find myself in an unfortunate dillema of which one to attend
All the best
Tom

Great to see evidence of kilt wearing in Ireland, Tom!
Many thanks for posting.
And I like that sporran. Is it fox?
Also, is there an Irish word you use instead of sporran?
Joe is wearing a very spiffy-looking dress sporran. I like his choice of Donegal.
But I thought I would ask about his roots: a name like Kyrollos sounds Greek to me. There are Greek families that have lived in Egypt for millennia, or so I am told.
I believe there are very few Egyptian Jews left, but a schoolmate of mine was an Egyptian-born Jewess. And I know a Maltese family here in Port Elizabeth that lived in Alexandria for a long, long time.

Mike
