Kilted 5th Birthday
For Christmas my son (now five) and I received two MacGregor sportkilts, and I also received a Stillwater Standard Black Stewart.
For his birthday party on Saturday, he wanted to have a Scottish theme so we wore our kilts and printed several images off of the internet to hang as decorations (kilted warriors, saltire, rampant lion) etc.
I think the greatest thing about this was it was totally his idea...he called me at work on Friday to tell me that was what he wanted.
And here are a few pics...(I am still searching for just the right informal sporran(s)...either bought or built).

The boots were his idea...quite an eclectic look...

Superb.
I hope one day I will have a son who will want to emulate my clothing choice.

SWK has the nightstalker. http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Sti...argo%20Sporran I use it almost every time I wear my kilt. I'm still trying to find a good solution for my 4 year old though.

Interesting avatar you have there, compared to your current picture - is this a case of baldness by choice being reversed???

Those are grand pictures. Congratulations on passing on the tradition.
A couple of years ago, I was bald by choice. I enjoyed its coolness during the summer.

That's exactly it - the avatar is my summer cut, the photo my winter coat. I have actually done that for about 13 years now.
Please note - every year when I grow out my winter coat, it seems to take a little more time to grow, and my winter coat is not as full as it once was.

Here's my bald by choice, and current. Arrgh-- it gets thinner with age, but at least there's some Black Irish color left! I wish I had been in kilts when my sons were 5. Maybe there's hope for my grandchildren!

A happy and proud wee kiltie there!
Winter coats tend to take longer to turn to summer ones and the success rate reduces as time goes by alas.
