    Kilted BBQing

So tonight we went over to Mark and Joan's to see how Joan was doing after her fall the night the Seasick Sailors played at Grossman's Tavern. Joan will be going to see about it tomorrow. Anyway I was put to work, it seems Catherine told them that I make great burgers, so I was relegated to BBQ duty, now normally if I grill at home I don't wear one of the good kilts just in case but in a situation like this well you end up doing what you have to do. I was wearing the Carolina from Matt Newsome. Here is a picture or two from the night.

Mark and Joan have kept two of the kittens the gray one is named Gunner as Marks clan is the Gunn clan, and the Siamese is named Alba, we have Nessie from the same litter.

As always it was a good night with Mark and Joan, hopefully we will see them tomorrow night for Dancing in the Park.

Looks like a perfect time to have a WWII over apron for your kilt. Hope Joan is healing well.

An ordinary apron would do the trick, too. better then end up with ruined kilt.

Yep, I would not get that close to spitting fat without something to protect the kilt.

Well it was lean ground beef, and the lid was down for most, I honestly never thought about an apron, perhaps I should get one of those kilt aprons from WPG just in case I'm asked to do it again.

Although I really enjoy cooking (and I am quite reasonable at it), I am only allowed in 'Her' kitchen a couple of times a year. I have got a gentleman's apron (navy blue with white pin stripes) which goes from just under the knot in my tie to about mid calf and wraps around the waist, almost meeting in the back. Truly a professional bit of kit; waiting there forlornly for her to say the magic words - "Dear, why don't you cook tonight?"

Anyway - A good picture of you 'in action'. I am jealous.

    Regards

    Chas
