Side note regarding headwear.
While not the most stylish hat I own (in fact it is probably the least stylish hat I own) I give kudos to this floppy khaki Dorfman Pacific hat. For the first Summer I can remember my face and back of my neck are not bright pink! The floppy quality that makes it look rather dorky shields both.

Cheers
Jamie

Like the hat, Jamie. How do you find the cromach for hiking in such wilds?

Jamie: I don't think it makes you look dorky. It makes you look like a serious, if not famous, explorer. Besides, I have one just like it.
Way to shoot the bird!

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Father Bill,
Just fine. I made that stick out of a Sporting Goods hiking staff. I chopped off the top and added a wood one I fashioned. When it was accidentally broken by my wife and son I refashioned the crook and added it to a new stick. The bottom end has a nice combo rubber / spiked tip so it is a very good one on the trail. I have passed up vintage cromachs that while nice looking, weren't good for actual trail use. I need my sticks to be practical as well as nice looking accessories.
Cheers
Jamie

Looks like a fun day out. And Jamie, the hat, as does most Tilleys also, make you appear to be a well decked out explorer of kilted note.
