My son is graduating from high school this month. The school he attends has a tradition called Senior Honor Night which is a formal dinner during which a slide show is presented showing a short biography and futures plans for each graduating senior (14 in his class).
Five years ago, when my oldest graduated, one of her classmates, a lad from the MacRae clan, wore his kilt. The narrow-minded vice-principal was aghast and banned kilts from all school events. However, that VP is no longer at the school and I informed (I didn't ask) the current administration that the Ua Meachair would be attending kilted. Our clan chieftain even offered to come, but attendance was limited to seniors and their parents.
My son was rather hesitant at first but finally decided to kilt-up. And given the overwhelmingly postive response (especially from the young ladies), I think he's glad he did.
