    Kilted at fraternity

Last week I was at a german student Fraternity (Studentenverbindung) "Frisia" in Essen.
I wore my Irelandīs National, and that was quite fitting as their colours are green, white and gold/yellow.

Never understood why fraternities don't all have their own tartan to make kilts from...perhaps they fear the "Catholic school girl look" on campus. I'd wear my fraternity tartan in a heartbeat - if we had one. Colors are primarily cardinal red and gray with black, gold, white trim.

I agree. A fraternity seems like the perfect venue for a tartan and the resulting kilt.
