    Kilted fun run

I told you guys how I went to play pipes for Turpin's mother's memorial service. Well, that morning, I went on a fun run (...walk) in Davenport, Iowa with my girlfriend and her dad.

My girlfriend is upset because she claims I "stole her family". Basically, she is convinced that they like me better than they like her.

Yes, I'm wearing my horsehair sporran. It was the only one I had. See, the fun run was really spur-of-the-moment, and it was the only sporran I had.

No kilt in this photo, but I'm the one in the white shirt with red hair (who else would it be?), with Amelia being adorable to the right of me.

So overall, a 7-mile walk in a kilt is nice, but I'd recommend either Body-Glide or some sort of undergarment. Neither of which I had. Needless to say, it was painful at the end...

Even body glide would not have protected you from the bruising of that great hairy sporran!!!
What made you wear such a monster?

Could have gone without the sporran. For a casual look, a nylon fanny pack works OK and is lighter.

Surely the sporran is for piping rather than running - looks enough to be dangerous when doing the latter!

Yes, bodyglide, or vaseline, for kilted running, though vaseline will ruin the kilt if it gets soaked in to it.
