    Kilted on the Moon

Decided to do some hiking on the "Moon." A very barren area in Southern Utah - I think the kilt goes well on the Moon - adds some color.

This is my USA Kilts Texas Bluebonnett in semi-trad. Very cool on a 100 degree F day.

If you look close you'll see a standing rock "toadstool" above me.

All day I face the barren waste without a taste of water....

If there is water on the Moon it probably looks like this - dang little and very very alkaline. This is Wahweap Creek a tributary of the mighty Colorado River.

Exploring the canyons of the Moon.

Great pics Ron, but who took them? They were certainly following you at a safe distance!

Tartan looks like US Navy (Edzell), but I can't tell. If it is, that is the tartan I wore today with a "United We Stand" t-shirt. Made a great Independence Day outfit.

Nope, Texas Bluebonnett from Rocky in Semi-trad.

Wearing my firefighter memorial tomorrow for the 4th. Seems fitting.

Ron, after 10 years of living in the desert, and hating it, you continually amaze me at how the beauty of your pics makes me almost miss it. I've been in your areas, but somehow you capture what I never saw with my own eyes. I think it must be because I'm a northerner and never really acclimated to the weather. You bring a beauty to the Southwest that I never saw/appreciated in person. Thank you for that, sir.

And hey, your gams under a kilt certainly don't hurt the scenery!! LOL

I would seriously like to visit your neck of the woods Ron. You do show it off well.

Thanks guys. Been trying to get some color on them "gams." When its too hot for kilt hose there's nothing worse than paste white legs under a kilt (just my opinion, your mileage may vary) so out poking around the canyonlands to get some Sun on them.

I have the pastiest chicken sticks you've ever seen. They never get color on them. Pure white or bright red. Nothing else. I really need to pick up some spray on tan. Even a bit of orange will be better than these pathetic things I have.

Photo #1 really looks like Ron is on the Moon. A great photo.

Photo #2, Those are really HUGE rocks.

Photo #3, The dryness is very evident in Ron's footprints.

Very interesting wasteland photos. Always amazing photos from Ron, a stark contrast from the lush green from the Smoky Mountains of east TN where we are right now.

    Thanks for posting 'em Ron.
