Kilted Night out January 28th - Portland Oregon
OK, Rabble, as they say, no photos - it didn't happen. Here are a few we collected ( other attending, feel free to add yours ) this evening in northern Oregon on the Portland side of the river. A good time was had by all with many lively conversations and stories shared. Food and drink was good and the company was not bad either.
Thanks go out to Bob (Ratspike) who was driven to get us all to the Horse Brass Pub, in Portland Oregon. ( BTW, Bob, those new designs on your kilt-craft are interesting indeed!)
All agree, this is a good venue to attempt to make a monthly night out for the Kilted Krew.
We we had a hair shy of 20 attend, some of them kilted....

For the Rabbles review:
(those in the posed group shot, to the best of my knowledge are as follows - L to R, Ratspike, Carl, ?, Hawk, Rick Y, Vmac3205, CaptMac) please feel free to correct Rabble.)

Big props to those lovely folks who allowed us to interrupt their dart game while we took a group photo.
Thanks to everyone for coming out this evening! Kilt night is off to a great start in the new year and it's only going to get better. Maybe next month I should give Horse Brass a heads up that we're coming, which will hopefully translate to our waitstaff not hating us.

Another big vote of approval for the get-together. Very interesting conversations and we really enjoyed the location. Great choice and some great people! Amazed to discover that Carl and I had both served at the same Army base (at VERY greatly separated times. (Carl is much older than he looks!! LOL ).( Amazed because it is quite out of the way and most have never heard of it). I strongly urge others in the Portland area to come to the next 'party'! You will be highly welcomed!

LOL that waitress hated us something fierce, you could see it in her eyes but I have no clue what prompted it. I hope she made enough in tips to make up for whatever it was. I liked that place despite old angry eyes. Hahahaha Rick Y it's all the alcohol, makes for a great preservative, keeps me young looking and handsome Truthfully though it is a very small community who've served in "the Land of the Midnight Sun" I haven't come across too many either Rick. It was very nice meeting you and getting to chat with a fellow survivor in from the cold. I look forward to the next one!

A heads up would help them to give you a table that suits the group, and the waitstaff should remember,....there's tips in those sporrans.

Why would you go back to a place where the waitress "hated" you. Surely there must be other places in your area that would welcome a group. any group.

It's a fantastic pub. I've been going there for 20 years and have rarely had an unfriendly server. Maybe she was just having a bad day on the job.
