I was asked by some friends to do some piping at a kid's Nordic Ski event at a nearby ski area. It was in the upper 40's at my house, so why not? Up to of the mountain, though, it was in the low 20's, the wind was blowing in at 20 mph and it was foggy. My knees were quite cold. I was kitted out in my USA Kilts Earl of St. Andrews tartan, purchased at Rocky's closet sale last December (thanks, Rocky). The sorels kept my feet warm, fingerless gloves did what they could to ward of frostbite and I played 'Scotland the Brave' and 'Will Ye No Come Back Again' for the kids in the opening ceremonies. Those whistles and cowbells from Team Brazil never stood a chance next to me. Some pictures:
