Kilted Snow Removal
It snowed yesterday and last night, but only about 3 inch accumulation this time in SW Michigan. Today dawned bright and clear with no wind, although the temp was only about 20 degrees F. at 1000 am.
When I left my last job in Germany to retire, the folks there took up a collection and asked me what I would like. I said I was going to purchase a snowblower and used the money to purchase the beast shown here.

One of the guys said he would like to see me in a kiilt removing snow so today I put on my PV Hay Ancient and went outside. With no wind and a lot of sun, I was quite comfortable, but I don't think it will be my regular mode of dress when the wind is blowing the snow back into my face!
I live about 20 miles east of Lake Michigan and I'm told we can expect lake effect snow falls to be significant (12 to 20 inches). I think my new toy can handle it.
Regards,
Tom

You lucky rascal. We've had exactly one snow flurry this winter, and it lasted about 15 minutes.

Piper;
Spoken like someone who has never had to get up at 5am to shovel snow so you can get the car out of the drive way, just to have the snow plow fill your drive way by the time you changed clothes for work.
Which is why I now live in Texas.

Re: Kilted Snow Removal
My last two winter in Germany I lived in a duplex at the head of a short driveway. Four other houses further in than me. I had to be sure to get my part of the driveway done early in the morning so the other folks could get out. Nowhere to put the snow except piled up on the curve.
Here at my new house I've got plenty of room to throw it off to either side. Eight passes of the snowblower and I'm done!
Just hope the weather is good next Saturday and Sunday. Grand Rapids Burns Night supper on the 28th!

Re: Kilted Snow Removal
I need to move where it snows...so I can have a snow blower like that! Do they make a ride-on model?

BD, I've never lived on a "public road", so I've been responsible for my own snow as long as I can remember. It's just not winter without some snow.
