Kilted Tire Flipping
Hey, it's a StrongMan thing! .. Flipping enormous tractor tires is one of the standard events done in StrongMan competitions. We had a throwing day at Shaffer Field this Sunday, and Jon T. got out one of the 1,000 pound tires. Well, I HAD to take a shot at it!
This is our annual Duke Kahanamoku H'Island Games, where the required attire is kilt and Hawaii'an shirt.

This is Jess Thomas, tackling the same tire. HEY, it's kilt picture, see Summer Pierson in the background? I made her kilt! There are actually several tricks to flipping a tire like this. You have to be very strong, but it's not all about strength.

One of the attendees brought his kids, so here we are flippin' a smaller tire, together...

Mike takes on the Big Tire....he had no problem with it, at all! Me, I about busted a gut with the thing!

HA!....the littlest girl, see I was teasing her off and on all day. Her mommy said that she kept saying that she wanted to try something, but then I'd come over and she's get scared/shy. When she saw the tires though....she liked that a lot. So we just HAD to flip a tire!!
