Kilted Wet Rat
So went up to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon this weekend to camp out with long time friends on vacation from Florida. It rained the entire time. Weather guessers said only 30% chance of rain...they should have said 130%! Only took my RKilts blue leather kilt since we'd be in the woods a lot. Also took my Mr. Antony's Ultimate rain cape....survived but bedraggled...rain reminds me of why I've never been back to Oregon since 1968....grew up there....I've had enough.
As I was pulling out to drive home this morning my friend wanted a photo...so here's what an olde geezer looks like after a day and a night kilted in steady rain...all day, all night...rain....

Hey, if old friends are involved I am sure you had fun.
How'd the leather kilt do? did you just have to wipe it off?

Coulda used the Wellies for sure. Tossed in the kilt hose as an after thought...glad I did. Leather kilt was well soaked then sitting on it for the three hour drive home it creased up well. Hung it up at home, moistened it, and straightened the pleats and put weighted clips on each pleat so they'd dry straight. Looks like its working. Never felt "wet" in the rain in the leather kilt. Most rain ran off, or if it soaked in any didn't get to the inside where I'd feel it. Love my leather kilts for hard weather.

A high pressure area has been sitting over eastern NM and western TX the last few days driving southern moisture up over most of AZ. It's supposed to move east starting tomorrow allowing that moisture to move over NM. I hope so. We need it.

We got it! It's been raining here pretty much all day. It's supposed to hang around a few days. Hopefully, our drought conditions will improve.

Good pic Ron.
Here was I thinking Arizona was all about drought and dry desert and now we have a pic with rain and lush green trees just like Scotland.

Vegetation doesn't mess around here in the desert. Spit twice in the same spot an something green will pop up.
In Florida the rain is warm. Here it's cold as the wind evaporates it off your skin. Bet your guests noticed this little difference too.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.
