It has been more than a year since there have been any occasions to dress up smart and wear a kilt. At last, with the easing of restrictions, my wife and myself got invited to a ceremony yesterday at Glasgow University to mark the despatch of clothes and toys donated by Scots to the Reach Mongolia charity for less fortunate people of Mongolia. There was a piper to send off the van which would take the goods on the first leg of their journey to Ulaanbataar and one of the drivers was kilted. I wore my 21st Century navy blue kilt. I did not get a photo with it at the ceremony, but my wife took one in the city centre afterwards. On first viewing of the photo I was concerned that I had perhaps lost the Lightning Bolt kilt pin. However all was well, and it had just disappeared round the corner from the angle of the photo
