    A late review!

Well, I've had this kilt for just over a month now and I've been wondering about doing a review.
Eventually, I decided that it's worth the time.

I knew that I would be attending a St Andrew's day SCD ball with Diane when I visited. Since I would just be taking a few kilts I wanted one that would be decent quality for the ball, but I didn't want to wear my tank. I wanted it's debut to be at my wedding.
Neither could I really wear my Tweed Kilt. it just felt too much like daywear.

So, I decided to try and find a decent, off the rack PV.

Cruising around on Ebay for an idea I found a Pride of Scotland by a company called Avance Highland Ltd.

What attracted me to this kilt, other than the tartan?

    This phrasing in their ad:

"They are not of the same quality as a pure wool kilt (and anyone who tries to tell you otherwise knows nothing about highlandwear!)"

I'll admit, I was hooked with that.
So I took a chance and ordered one.

It arrived in a time worthy of Stillwater kilts and it was just as described.
It was mediumweight, it was PV and it was, quite obviously, carefully made.

Now don't get me wrong, it's not a Semi-trad by Rocky. It's machine stitched and it's off the rack.
    But it's GOOD.

It feels comfortable and hangs very well. The pleats keep crisp and clean even through a day or two of hard use.

I did change one of the buckles when I got it because it was just a little too soft for my liking. but considering the price that doesn't bother me all that much.

So here are some pictures of the kilt.
I'm really happy with it and I think it was good for the price.

It hangs well and I like how it looks.

And here are the pleats after a day out in the rain and on and off buses.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

There's something to be said for truth in advertising! That's actually rather refreshing to hear!

For £40.00, that appears to be a good-value kilt, Arlen (I am assuming it was the 'Budget Kilt' from their range).

What is the tartan, by the way? The Avance Highland website does not appear to illustrate the available tartans, only name them!

Having seen your photos, I could be interested in having one of those myself, for day to day wear and knocking about the house.

    Take care,
    Ham.
