    latest pics

Well, I injured my right hand recently, and work on my kilt has come to a screeching halt.

I have been anxious to share it, however, so I thought I would go ahead and post my latest developments.

I also made a prototype for some flashes, I have two more designs I will do once my hand heals.

Oh, the pics are in my gallery.

    Looking good.

Where did you get the little buckles for the flash garters?

I found them at JoAnn Fabrics. They are vest tie somethings... They were in the same area as the fabric belting material, clasps and other such do-dads.

I may still have the box. I can't seem to find them online....

    I'll keep looking...

As you well know I have my hands in sporrans most days.

When I see the work that goes into a kilt ...well I'm just amazed. Looks like it's a lot of fun and very rewarding..

I hope your hand soon gets back to 100% so we can see some pic's of you and your kilt

Beerbecue, that's one TIGHT looking kilt! I can appreciate the preparatory work that you chose to use too. When you go through THAT MUCH care and time, you're going to be proud of the finished product. I'm sorry that your hand is "on the mend", but it WILL be finished eventually... and it looks fantastic. 8)

Keep up that great work, because from what is visible in the picture, you're WELL on your way to owning one awesome kilt.

    Beerbeque,

That kilt, and especially the pleating, is 'mouthwatering'! Warmest congratulations to you.

I've tried twice to construct my own kilt but was forced to give up both times. Setting the pleats was within my capabilities, but beyond that I was totally at a loss. I had previously been told that to build a kilt one needed to be both mathematician and engineer. Sadly I am neither (nor will I ever be). It was things like calculating the tapering of each pleat from waist to hip that got me - and that would have been just the start of my problems!!

I am sure you will wear your kilt with pride - you deserve to.
