Apologies, at first glance I thought you had pleats at the front but taking a closer look I see that it appears to be a very dark tartan; what is the tartan?

It's the Black Watch - sorry for the poor photo quality, color wise, as my digital camera seems to be stuck in 'Sepia' mode (though, there doesn't seem to be any way to change it - major evil at work there.)
I love the Black Watch, though I *do* have my own Tartan:

And my own badge (see above)

Ya' look good in a kilt my friend. May I take it from the screen name that you are of Russian decent?

Yes, I'm Russio/Cossack Jewish. I celebrate my Heritage, but I just can't help but *dig* Scotland, Scots, and Scottish culture.

There is a Jewish tartan. I can't think of what the actual name is. Cajunscot could probably tell us, or one of the resident history buffs.
I remember seeing it, but don't remember what it is called. It has the blue and white from the Israeli flag.

If there is, I've never heard of such a tartan. There is at least one Russian family that has designed a tartan, the Lermontovs (sic?), I believe. There is also a Bulgarian tartan in honour of an Irishman named O'Mahony who was a well-known expat in Bulgaria.

I have seen a picture of Jewish Boy Scouts in Glasgow wearing kilts, but I don't think they were in a distinctive "Jewish" tartan.
Gordon is also recommend for Russians, as a Gordon served with the Tsar's armies, and of course, the MacLean tartan, for Sir Fitzroy MacLean, who spent a good deal of time in Eastern Europe and Russia.
One could even argue that a Russian could wear the Burns tartan or the Burns check, since the Russians are great admirers of RB.
Kilteddcossack, is your badge part of your arms, and are they registered with the Russian College of Arms?
Regards,
Todd
