Me and mine at the Santa Cruz Ren Faire and Games
Here are a few photos from this weekend's Santa Cruz Ca. Scottish Ren Faire(don't ask, I don't know) and Games. My camera's memory card topped out after just a few photos so had to delete and shoot during the day, so not as many photos as I would have liked. Jamie and family were in attendance as well so hopefully he will add some more as he gets time.
Not a very extensive presentation, but here is what I got.
Connie and I after her purchase of the requisite female ren faire articles

Some of the Ren Faire reenactor type fellows:

A few of Connie's son Daelin and I getting lessons in archery:

Unknown to me was the significant contribution that Belly Dancers made to the Renaissance

The various guild members were very friendly, encouraging and helpful. Here is Daeiln getting some quick instruction on the harp:

After a wonderful meal at the Fish Shack, we strolled to the beach at Moss Landing for a lovely end to the day:

Great friends, great family, best of times!
Cheers,
Brooke

Man, some people...
From the look on this poor woman's face, I see you declined to keep your comments out of the gutter.

You mock, but belly dancing had a significant influence on the Renaissance: The Crusades were actually tour groups organized to go east and witness this ancient art. The resulting exposure to Middle Eastern mathematics, medicine, etc. set in motion the explosion of Western rationalism which followed. So there.
Great set of pics. Looks like you three had fun!

I'm usually pretty well behaved, at least when Connie is in attendance, so am confident I was a perfect gentleman! However, being one of the apostles of LitTrog I may have just given her that tidbit of well documented fact that the crusades were actually tour groups sent out on cultural exchanges. We're a bit behind on our rounds, so I'm confident that bit of news has not traveled to all four corners quite yet

Wonderful photos, Brooke! Thank you for sharing. I am rather fond of your hose, let me guess, House of Cheviot Sandringhams?
