A while back the Mrs. and I were visiting our alma mater, Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. Near the middle of campus is the world's tallest statue of Martin Luther. It's a twelve-foot granite monolith and of course I needed a picture with him. Herewith it shall be:


The kilt is the Carolina tartan made by Matt Newsome. The hose are the large shepherd's plaid pattern made by me. The rest explains itself. Just for visual reference, I'm 6'2", so you can see this statue of Dr. Luther is a big 'un.

Very impressive in statue size, and your kilt hose!

A few years ago, my wife and I had an opportunity to visit in the town of Wittenberg, Germany, where Luther lived and posted his 95 theses. Lot of history there.
