Met Some Wonderful Folks

While flying kilted I saw a group of men, all in their 90s being pushed in wheelchairs at BWI airport. It turned out that they were all WW2 veterans who were being flown to Washington DC by "Arizona Honor Flight" to see the WW2 Memorial. The trip is free for the vets, however, each vet has a "guardian" WHO PAYS THEIR OWN WAY! Wow. Here is a photo of me with their medic and one of the guardians.

What an honor you received. I hope that group got a kick out your kilt. The WWII vets I visit at the local home here remember kilted soldiers when they were stationed in Scotland or assigned with troops from there.

Not all memories during war time are horrific.
